Wilfred Ndidi names Super Eagles legend as his childhood idol

Nigeria and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed the name of a Super Eagles legend who was his idol when growing up.

Footballers have their own idols even the most popular ones. If many used to choose Messi or Ronaldo, Ndidi’s idol is an African and espacially a Nigerian.

Speaking during an Instagram live session with NFF team, Wilfred Ndidi said John Mikel Obi is his idol.

“Mikel is my idol. He is the only player I know I cherished in that DM position. You can’t just get the ball from Mikel”, Ndidi said, as per AIO Football.

“You have to work very hard. The qualities he possesses stand him out anyway for me.

“I grew up watching him at Chelsea and I must say he was a gem during his time there.”
